Sigma logo definition
The
6-Sigma concept is one that is based on 6 developmental areas, or areas that are
under continuous consideration in a process that essentially push out
innovations and benefits towards the consumer, the industry, and our company.
This concept is represented by firstly, the shape of the hexagon and secondly,
the number of hexagons displayed, starting from the white/grey hexagon to the
navy blue hexagon leading to the arrow.
The use of the hexagonal shape is significant for several reasons: (1) the
hexagon itself has 6- sides, representing the 6-Sigma concept; and (2) the
sharpness of the angles are visually symbolic of key attributes, such as
accuracy, truth, precision, honesty, and trust. It represents the fact that
Sigma goes through massive detail in considering every single part of our
organization in order to perfect each part, thereby perfecting the next piece
that it comes in contact with.
The presence of the 6 hexagons represent the 6 steps in the process, which
starts at one focal point and revolves around.
The arrow going out to the right is symbolic of several things:
- It points to the fact that through this process, we build innovations
and procedures that are beneficial to the client, the industry, and our
company.
- It points to our company as being the one to do business with.
- It represents concepts such as progression, being on target, being on
point, innovation, and moving forward.
The continuous circle represents the concept that the 6-Sigma process is not
the type that runs only once – it’s a constant, never-ending, ever-evolving
process which benefits the client, the industry, and our company.
The colors used in the logo are significant on many levels:
White is symbolic of purity – that is, the purity
of the client’s point of view. The concept behind 6-Sigma is not to start from a
jaded process or point of view, but from a standpoint of purity and clarity.
Because we have the ability to look at things from the customer’s viewpoint,
then the results of our efforts are consequently in line with the needs of our
customers.
Light grey is representative of our company’s point
of view. Therefore, the colors in the first hexagon, which contains the white
and the light grey, represent the duality of Sigma Exteriors’ point of view –
the white representing the purity of the customer’s viewpoint, which is what we
always have to look at and start with FIRST, and the light grey representing our
own point of view. And from there we can move through the client process having
a clear foundation of what the customer’s needs are.
As you move clockwise, the different colors in the
hexagons are solid, stable, timeless, classic colors, representative of concepts
that are based on stability and accuracy. They are also professional and
credible. The point behind the use of these colors is for people to understand
that the process is stable and credible, rather than radical. Even innovation is
based on data, statistics, evidence, and information.
Blue is the color of integrity. Therefore, the
arrow is blue because it represents the fact that the innovations that come out
of the process are true. And as it is connected to the white, the blue arrow
symbolizes the idea that the innovations coming out are fully “customer
centered” and are based on the needs of the consumer.
Lastly, the entire shape of the logo is representative of the lowercase
sigma.
